Responsibilities

WellStar Atlanta Medical Center South is looking for a Paramedic to join their Emergency Department Team

The paramedic, under the supervision of the Registered Nurse is responsible for facilitating age-appropriate, culturally and ethnically sensitive care, maintaining a safe environment, educating patients and their families, collecting information, communicating effectively, and utilizing technology. The Paramedic participates, under the supervision of the RN, in the assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation of the delivery of health care services and tasks. The role of the Paramedic also includes patient advocacy, teaching and performance improvement. The Paramedic role is not a clinical supervising role.

Qualifications

Qualifications/Minimum Requirements:

Required Minimum Education: High School Diploma or GED equivalent

Required Minimum Licensure/Certification: Licensed as a Paramedic in the State of Georgia

BLS, ACLS, and PALS are required. Georgia Stroke Core Curriculum and CPI certification within 90 days of hire or transfer to the department.

Required Minimum Skills: Ability to read, write and speak English language, optimize the use of technology to support clinical care and holds basic computer skills; Strong interpersonal, collaborative skills along with customer service skills required; Ability to function in a fast paced environment and respond to emergencies in using a decisive, composed and respectful manner; Possess excellent time management skills; provide care using evidence and analytical skills along with possessing strong critical thinking skills.
