The Cardiac Exercise Specialist functions under the direction of the Cardiac Rehabilitation Manager and in conjunction with the Clinical Coordinator in providing age appropriate patient care which addresses the biological, emotional, developmental, psychological, and educational needs of the patients/family.
Required Minimum Education: Bachelor’s degree in Exercise Science or related field.
Required Minimum Experience: Experience in exercising special populations including cardiac, geriatric, and diabetic patients. Must possess knowledge of EKG, CAD, blood pressure and blood glucose monitoring and treatment options. Cardiac Rehab experience preferred. Group exercise leadership and public speaking experience preferred.
Required Minimum Certification: BLS required. ACLS required or obtained within 12 months of employment date.
Required Minimum Skills: Knowledge of coronary heart disease, cardiopulmonary anatomy and physiology, electrocardiography, and exercising special cardiac populations. The individual must be able to communicate and understand verbal and written English language and display a positive attitude.
