The Cancer Data Abstractor II abstracts to computerized registry database all reportable cancer cases with accurate, pertinent, and complete codes and/or data according to ACoS FORDS reporting standards & procedures, as well as state and facility requirements. Shares responsibility of casefinding, abstracting, and follow-up in the Cancer Data Center.
Required Minimum Education : Certified Tumor Registrar (CTR) or CTR eligible (associates degree in a recognized allied health field)
Required Minimum Experience : Three years experience in ACoS Approved Cancer Registry or graduate of a Cancer Registry Program with an Associate Degree
Required Minimum Skills : ICD-O coding; staging in AJCC, and Collaborative Stage formats; computerized data reporting skills, preferred system is METRIQ; computer knowledgeable; medical terminology; anatomy & physiology; cancer disease processes & standards of care; strong communication skills; work as a team player; ability to work without direct supervision.
