The Coordinator, Quality Clinical Integration Program is a dual reporting position supporting both the efforts of the WellStar Clinical Partners and the efforts as an Accountable Care Organization. This position reports to the Associate Vice President Population Health with a matrix reporting structure to the Associate Vice President, WellStar Clinical Partners The person in this role will serve as the primary quality contact for and subject matter expert to the physician members of the Clinical Integration (CI) program. He/she will also serve as the liaison between the WellStar Clinical Partners organization, the Accountable Care Organization members and the WellStar Health System Quality Transformation Steering Committee.
In this role, the individual is responsible for the overall administration of the clinical quality metrics. Specifically, he/she will ensure reporting is timely and accurate, validate the metrics collected, and distribute metrics to key customers. In addition, he/she will provide education and support regarding quality initiatives.
As a liaison, the individual in this role must be able to communicate effectively and with a high level of regard for leadership positions and physician partners of the System. He/she will craft key messages in a manner that gains consensus and thoroughly explains the purpose of the information. The Coordinator, Quality CI Program will attend quality meetings, steering committee meetings and track agenda items and progress. He/she must be able to interpret requests of customers and create actionable metrics or appropriate reports.
He/she is responsible for the overall administration of the clinical quality metrics. Acts as a resource to existing or potential physician participants and is a primary contact for physician who would like to propose new metrics measurement. The quality specialist is responsible for communicating metric changes and potential solutions to CI physician offices.
The Coordinator Quality CI Program must maintain current awareness of inpatient and ambulatory metrics and well as emergency regulations for reporting related to compliance and program operations. This individual will be a key participation in the transformation of WellStar as a preeminent integrated health System
Required Minimum Education: Bachelor’s degree in management or clinical arena with formal training in health care quality and/or population health. Master’s degree and/or specialty certification in health care quality (CPHQ) preferred. State licensure as an RN preferred.
Required Minimum Experience: 5 years’ Experience in a health care setting, including skill with quality reporting and analysis. Demonstrable understanding of healthcare compliance and/or regulatory reporting requirements. Demonstrated knowledge of and success in implementing quality improvement and/or population health interventions using systems thinking, formal process improvement methodologies, and proven quality improvement strategies (PDCA, Lean/Six Sigma).
Required Minimum Skills: Ability to self direct and appropriately delegate. Ability to exercise judgment, problem solve, and make decisions consistent with WellStar philosophy, goals, and objectives. Demonstrated strong leadership, communication, project management, and team building skills. Excellent communication skills (written and oral) and the ability to present one’s self and/or ideas with clarity and compassion. Ability to create and maintain solid relationships with care providers and advocate for the voice of the patient. Strong analytical, problem solving and decision-making skills. Excellent organizational skills and the ability to work within all levels of the organization.
