The Director of Information Security is responsible for leadership of the information technology security program, including the implementation of all aspects of the program to identify, assess, measure, manage, monitor and report information security risks. The overall goal of the program is to help reduce information security risks to an acceptable level based on business needs and the threat environment. In addition to leading the information security program, this role works closely with the physical security, information security, privacy and compliance programs.
Required Minimum Education: Bachelor’s degree required in an information technology or engineering field. Master’s degree in Business or Information Assurance is preferred.
Required Minimum License/Certifications: Security certifications required (CISSP and/or CISM).
Required Minimum Experience: 8-10 total years of experience in information technology, including a minimum of 5 years of experience in information security management role. Proven abilities in developing strong partnering relationships with senior management teams, and a high level of written and oral communication skills, as well as a strong knowledge of security management processes. Must be comfortable working in a fast-paced, dynamic environment. Experience implementing complex and integrated information systems. Technical foundation required.
Required Minimum Skills: Excellent Project Management skills including practical usage of Microsoft Project, knowledge of Advanced Network, Telecommunication, and Security Operations, Virtual Application delivery (including operating systems, utilities, Microsoft Office Products, etc.). Knowledge of auditing, compliance and vulnerability testing procedures. Strong communication, presentation and customer relations skills. Must have the ability to influence others to work collaboratively to achieve results. Able to understand and relate to the interdependencies/impact of Information Systems on the operation of the WellStar Health System. Experience driving organizational change. Demonstrated ability to work cross functionality in a leadership capacity within large complex organizations. Taking responsibility for outcomes and producing results as promised. A strong sense and the confidence and self-assurance to handle a variety of challenges. Knowledge of HIPAA Security Rule, PCI DSS, NIST, and ISO 27000 1/2.
