Responsibilities

The Managed Care Provider Relations and Credentialing Specialist will initiate and oversee the credentialing process for all new providers joining the WellStar Physicians Group as well as the providers joining the Locum Tenen float pool. This individual will attend all credentialing meetings and present initial credentialing files to committee members.This individual will complete the Universal Application, Medicare, Medcaid and any other state required applications for the Physicians Group Providers.This individual works independently to organize all credentialing meetings, maintain the department ESI suppy orders, organization of department correspondence, meeting minutes, maintain the department equipment and other admininstrative and departments projects as needed. This individual will also provide basic level support to the managed care department as needed.

Qualifications

Required Minimum Education: Minimun of 2years of college or equivalent work experience.

Required Minimum Experience: 2-4 years in in a managed care environment.Heavy computer experience required with extremely strong skills in Word, Power Point, and Excel. Database management skills desirable.

Required Minimum Skills: Self –directed, ability to work autonomously and prioritize multiple assignments in a fast paced environment without direct supervision. Very strong organizational skills. Must possess an understanding of today’s changing healthcare industry. Stong communication skills, both written and verbal. Able to interface with administrators, providers and PHO Committee members. Individual must have strong customer service skills.
