WellStar Windy Hill Hospital and the East Cobb Health Park are currently seeking a Safery Officer.
Functions under appropriate department director/executive director to execute all safety aspects for entities of WellStar. Supports and participates in the Process Improvement Program as it relates to managing the
environment of care. Responsible for Emergency Management Program.
Required Minimum Education : High school graduate. Prefer degree in public safety, industrial safety, fire science or
Required Minimum Certification : Emergency Management Healthcare Professional (EMHP) to be completed in first
12 months of employment.
Required Minimum Experience : At least four years of experience, including functional to extensive knowledge of
emergency preparedness/incident response or hazardous materials handling, OSHA regulations, JCAHO standards
and Life Safety Codes. Must be familiar with FDA’s Safe Medical Device Act (SMDA) and American’s with
Required Minimum Skills : Must be self-motivator, capable of performing without close supervision and have ability to
interact with all levels of the healthcare system. Must be organized, professional, and courteous, and able to handle
assignments with a high degree of accuracy and timeliness. Must be able to work effectively under stress and time
deadlines. Must maintain confidentiality of all information.
