Coordinator evidenced based medicine, performance improvement, and peer review/OPPE activities of the clinical staff and medical staff. Provide support for all facets of the evidenced based medicine, performance improvement, and peer review/OPPE/FPPE activities. These activities include Core Measures, IHI initiatives, OPPE/FPPE reporting and other quality initiatives that are underway in the facility. Responsible for concurrent record review, data collection and staff education regarding evidence based medicine. Participates in public reporting and Center of Excellence quality improvement initiatives. Participates in committees associated with Core measures, Peer Review and OPPE/FPPE and other quality initiatives as needed. Serves as consultant to the Medical Staff Committees and Department Managers. Coordinates with physicians in real time and retrospectively on evidence based medicine compliance. Participates and assist in the overall hospital wide PI activities and Accreditation program for the hospital. Assists the Director of Clinical Quality Improvement in retrieving data from various sources effectively and efficiently for use in the review of hospital and medical staff performance. Facilitates and coordinates the Performance Improvement processes with regards to physician peer review through data entry and analysis, physician review and reporting.
Required Minimum Education: Bachelor’s degree preferred.
Required Minimum Experience : Recent acute care clinical nursing experience hospital based nursing, and / or Core Measures coordination / PI experience required. Critical Care experience a plus. Chart audit/abstraction experience preferred.
Required Minimum Certification: Licensed as a Registered Nurse in the State of Georgia required.
Required Minimum Skills: Excellent communication skills. Ability to multi-task and work in a fast paced environment while demonstrating excellent customer service skills. Strong interpersonal skills. Must be able to deal effectively with management, administration, medical staff and ancillary departments.
